Living up here means every trip home is a climb and every trip out is a descent. Climbs put heat through the cooling system and the transmission. Descents put heat and wear through the brakes. Those two things account for most of what I get asked about in the hills, and both give you warning before they become expensive.

The one thing that stops me: a sloped driveway

Plenty of driveways up here are on a decent angle. I cannot safely jack a car on a slope, so if yours falls away, tell me when you book. Usually there is flatter ground at the top of the drive, on the verge, or at a neighbour's, and knowing in advance saves both of us a wasted trip.

Getting up there

It is a longer drive than my usual run, so ring and ask before assuming, and give me some notice. I will tell you honestly if travel adds to the price before you commit, not afterwards.
